Thanks to us being successful in accessing a grant, the cost of the trips will again be subsidised, £10 for Okehampton and along the route.  We may be able to include pick up from other areas if there is enough demand for an extra £2.  We will be adding some weekday trips in the future.  Please be ready for collection from 9am to ensure the driver is not held up.  Please let us know if you need to cancel a trip, don’t wait until we ring you the day before with the pick up time as we have already worked out our route and rung other passengers.  Thank you.  If you have any suggestions of places you would like us to include then let us know and we will try and include them.

Community Car Bookings

PLEASE ring and request your transport for hospital appointments as soon as you receive notification, we are having to disappoint more clients as we have not been given enough time to find an available volunteer.  You can ring and leave a message on the answerphone during the late afternoon/evening which then gives us a chance to work on it early in the morning when we return to the office.

Drivers

We say goodbye and thank you to Clive Tomes.

We are always looking for more volunteers and would particularly like to find someone in the Chagford/Throwleigh/Whiddon Down area and also Lewdown as we are having to send our drivers long distances to enable these journeys to take place.

Ring and Ride

Our Ring and Ride shopping bus has spare capacity at the moment, particularly on Wednesday (Bridestowe/Lewdown areas £5) and Friday (Halwill area £5) so if you know someone who would like a trip to the supermarket on these days then put them in touch with us.  If you live in Okehampton you can also make use of this service, it is just £3 for the return trip door to door.

Community Wellbeing Event – Saturday 4th September, 10am – 1pm at Jubilee Hall, Chagford

We will be attending this event being run by West Devon CVS.  Pop in and chat with local services, learn what they do and how they can help.  Free fun activities and refreshments.  All ages welcome.  For more information please contact Billie Burnett volunteering@westdevoncvs.org.uk 07704 155984

Coffee Morning- Saturday 11th September 9 – 12noon Charter Hall, Okehampton

We have managed to re-arrange our coffee morning and would welcome donations of both raffle prizes and goods, e.g. books, bric-a-brac.  Petes Homebake will be there with his cakes and goodies.

Car boot Sale/Online Sales

Thank you to everyone for continuing to donate goods for us to sell, we really appreciate this.  This year we have so far raised £800 from car boot sales thanks to Liz for giving up her weekends to do this and £504 from online sales, sold from the office which is a great help to our fundraising.

LocalGiving

We have set up a local giving page to raise funds towards our services, the link is http://www.localgiving.org/Okehampton if you would like to look at our story.
