Drivers

We say goodbye and thank you to Rob Reddington, Terry Porter and David Barnes.

We are always looking for more volunteers and would particularly like to find someone in the Chagford/Throwleigh/Whiddon Down area and also Lewdown.

As part of Volunteers Week we are taking our volunteer drivers for a Cream Tea on the 23rd and 24th June during the afternoon so please bear with us if we run out of drivers on these days for your appointments as this is our chance to say thank you to them for all their help during the year, especially as we were unable to hold an event in 2020 due to the restrictions.

Ring and Ride

Our Ring and Ride shopping bus has spare capacity at the moment, particularly on Wednesday (Bridestowe/Lewdown areas £5) and Friday (Halwill area £5) so if you know someone who would like a trip to the supermarket on these days then put them in touch with us.  If you live in Okehampton you can also make use of this service, it is just £3 for the return trip door to door.

Pop up Shop

We are grateful to Terry from Terrys Zimmers for allowing us the use of his shop.

We have now closed our shop, however we are still accepting items for sale for our coffee morning and we are also selling items online and at car boot sales to raise funds for our services.  We have already raised over £350 from car boot sales which is a real boost to our funds.

Community Wellbeing Event – Tuesday 29th June 4pm – 7pm Winkleigh Community Centre EX19 8HU

We will be attending this event being run by West Devon CVS.  Pop in and chat with local services, learn what they do and how they can help.  Free fun activities and refreshments.  All ages welcome.  For more information please contact Billie Burnett volunteering@westdevoncvs.org.uk 07704 155984

Coffee Morning

We have booked Okehampton Charter Hall for Saturday 17th July, all being well with the restrictions being lifted.  Further details to follow. Watch out for emails and posters nearer the time.

Grants

We have recently been successful in obtaining a grant for £500 from the Dartmoor National Park from their Dartmoor Coronavirus Support Fund and also £500 from Peoples Postcode Lottery as a Magic Little Grant.  We are grateful to them for their support of our services which has been a great help after a difficult year.

LocalGiving

We have set up a local giving page to raise funds towards our services, the link is http://www.localgiving.org/Okehampton if you would like to look at our story.

Mobility Scooters

We have two available for sale at the moment, please give us a ring for more information or to make an appointment to view/try.
