Coffee Morning

Thank you to everyone who supported our coffee morning, we raised £400.

Our next one will be on 15th April so put a note in your diaries!

Belstone Bazaar

We thank Jane Gilbert (and her sister) for kindly running a stall at the bazaar to raise funds for our charity.  It was a fun game of ‘Play your cards right’ which raised £35.  Watch out for it at our next Coffee Morning!

Drivers

We welcome John Thorp (Sticklepath) and Debbie Scott (Whiddon Down).  We are always looking for more volunteers and would particularly like to find someone in the Chagford and Lewdown areas as we are having to send our drivers long distances to enable these journeys to take place.

We also welcome Glyn Williams who is our new part time bus driver who will be covering our trips.

Warm Hubs

We have several warm hubs available in Okehampton, the Library, the Ockment Centre and the London Inn, they will welcome you in with a hot drink and some company.  There is also a new Wellbeing Café in St James Street, pop in to see what they have on offer including free advice.

Christmas & New Year Holidays

Please note that the Ring and Ride bus service will run on Friday 23rd December and then not again until Tuesday 3rd January.

The office will be closed from 1pm on Friday 23rd December until 08.30 on Tuesday 3rd January.  If you have an urgent request then please ring and leave a clear message on the answerphone with your name, telephone number, date and time of appointment.  I will be picking up the messages regularly from home and we will have a limited number of drivers available for any requests.  Please try and book any transport required before the office closes for Christmas.

Staff

We are sorry to say that unfortunately it did not work out with Lisa so she has now left.  We will be recruiting two new members of admin staff as soon as possible but in the meantime I will be working alone Monday to Friday so bear with me as the phone lines are sometimes very busy and I can only answer one at a time!

Office

Please note we have new email addresses office@odctg.co.uk and manager@odctg.co.uk.  If you have an email address then please let us know as it saves us a lot of postage and paper if we can keep you up to date by email instead.  We have 2 telephone lines coming into the office which is useful when there are usually two of us here on a Monday but for the rest of the week there is only one of us here so if you get the answerphone it does not mean we are not here, just that we are on the other line, so please leave a message and we will ring you back ASAP.  Please sign up to our website at www.odctg.co.uk for regular updates and news.

Wheelchairs

We have wheelchairs available for hire or sale in our office.  Please speak to us if you would like more information.  We also currently have a nearly new mobility scooter available.

LocalGiving

We have set up a local giving page to raise funds towards our services, the link is http://www.localgiving.org/Okehampton if you would like to look at our story.

Legacy

If you have had good service, please remember us in your will.  Thank you.
