We may be able to include pick up from other areas if there is enough demand for an extra £2. We will be adding some weekday trips in the future. Please be ready for collection from 9am to ensure the driver is not held up. Please let us know if you need to cancel a trip, don’t wait until we ring you the day before with the pick up time as we have already worked out our route and rung other passengers. Thank you. If you have any suggestions of places you would like us to include then let us know and we will try and include them.
Community Car Bookings
PLEASE ring and request your transport for hospital appointments as soon as you receive notification, we are having to disappoint more clients as we have not been given enough time to find an available volunteer. You can ring and leave a message on the answerphone during the late afternoon/evening which then gives us a chance to work on it early in the morning when we return to the office.
Drivers
We are always looking for more volunteers and would particularly like to find someone in the Chagford/Throwleigh/Whiddon Down area and also Lewdown as we are having to send our drivers long distances to enable these journeys to take place.
Coffee Morning
We will be holding a coffee morning on Saturday 26th March in the Charter Hall, Okehampton from 9 – 12. There will be various stalls and a raffle. We are happy to take donations of bric-a-brac/books/jigsaws and raffle prizes before the event or you can bring along on the morning.
Bequest
We have been extremely fortunate to receive a bequest from the estate of one of our long standing volunteer drivers, Bill Litherland. Many of you will remember Bill and his love of cars and driving with his open top Saab. We have ordered a Citroen wheelchair accessible vehicle to replace our current Citroen and are hoping for delivery by the summer.
Goods
Please remember us if you are having a clear out, we are still accepting goods for sale for when we can attend more car boot sales etc.
Wheelchairs
We have wheelchairs available for hire or sale in our office. Please speak to us if you would like more information.
LocalGiving
We have set up a local giving page to raise funds towards our services, the link is http://www.localgiving.org/Okehampton if you would like to look at our story.
Legacy
If you have had good service, please remember us in your will. Thank you.
